BARLEY MOW VILLAGE HALL CIO Bedford Avenue, Barley Mow, Birtley, DH3 2AJ Telephone 0191 410 5334 Email;- barleymowvillagehall@gmail.com MEDIA INFORMATION

Originally run by Gateshead Council , Barley Mow Village Hall became a CIO (charitable incorporated organisation in 2016 ((registered charity # 1170685).

In short we are non-profit and solely funded by the income we receive from those who use the facilities.

Our mission is to serve the community and by doing this in a responsible manner, maintain the facility for the use of the community in perpetuity.

The hall and facilities have been upgraded over the last few years and now provide the perfect venue for Social, Fitness and Hobby groups to exercise their pastimes in comfort year round.

The venue has two meeting rooms, a large well appointed hall with stage and lighting and a fitted kitchen, along with a reception area.

Meeting rooms and hall are available 7 days a week for one off or regular bookings.  Not for profit groups benefit from reduced rates for regular use.

There is also a Model Car racing club attached to the venue who run club race nights and are also happy to take race party bookings for Groups of between 10 and 24 people from age 8 and up, such as scout groups, social groups, kids race parties etc.

At present the Hall supports the following interests on a regular basis either organised by the hall or Groups and individuals;- Bingo, Table Top & Craft Fairs, Pilates, Tea Dance, Wine Club, Ballroom Dancing , Judo, Sword Dancing, Radio Control Cars, Model Railway Society, Jazz Band, Slot Car Racing, Sequence dancing, Little Kickers Football, Tae-Kwon-Do, Dog Club and many aspects of Keep fit. We are also a regularly used venue for NHS Blood donation.

We do rely on Volunteers to help in the general running of the Hall and anyone who feels they may be able to donate a bit of their time to help is always welcomed, even if it is just laying out tables and chairs for events and supporting our two part time staff.

Although the hall has a wide range of activities already, there is still plenty of room for more group activities, individual hire opportunities for events, parties, training and conference sessions in a well appointed, spacious and friendly venue.

Further information in regard to events are available on the website at bmvh.org  where you will also find web links for some of our independent group activities and also on our facebook page.
